Mars Hill Church Again

I so try not to care about this…but then something like this happens and it makes me want to scream…

  1. Rose,
I thought of you when I saw this on Bob’s blog. It was part of the video that I watched “for you.” šŸ™‚ I fast forwarded that part. To be honest, I’m not sure if that was actually the worst part of the hour long video. There is always plenty of cringe-worthy material with MD.

It is sad that people take him seriously and trust what he teaches.

  2. I have physical reactions to crap like this – it makes me sick to my stomach and so very sad. *sigh*

  3. what bothers me the most is there is someone that commented on the blog who goes to Mars Hill (or used to go there), who says that “Mark Driscoll does a lot of terrible things”, then says “but I like his preaching and teaching”. is there something wrong with this picture?

  4. Rose,
I have a lot of friends who come to the UW and are sucked into all of this by Driscoll’s incredible charisma, and come to accept that it would be evil for them to hold jobs or have equitable relationships with their husbands, etc. It’s just so terrible that they’re being sucked into this. There used to be so much uproar over the things he said about women, that all quieted down a couple years ago. But Driscoll didn’t quiet down, and while people certainly have the right to say and listen to what they want, we have a right to speak out against it when people are manipulated and abused. Why has all of this quieted down?
