April 4, 2016: “Your heart muscle is severely damaged.” “Your life will never be the same.” I was stunned, shocked, and confused as the cardiologist kept talking. I could barely take in his words. I had no idea what my future would be. My life as I had known it was over. I was devastated. What would come of life?
March 11, 2020: The day the pandemic future arrived in the United States. As of this writing, (in the US) 715,000 people have “died from Covid-19. I am not sure that we have yet to feel the enormity of the loss of grandparents, mothers, fathers, family, friends and, neighbors. We have been living in intense societal chaos. We see ruptures happening in families, churches, and friendships over masks, vaccines, politics, and religion. We watch as the very seams of our society are being torn and stretched. We wonder, is there a light at the end of the tunnel, or is that a train? I wonder out loud, are the ruptures we are experiencing providing the impetus for a new way coming to pass?
